KSOM Welcomes Students from Kalinga English Medium School, Kalarabank Smart Village

KIIT School of Management (KSOM) recently hosted a group of students and teachers from Kalinga English Medium School, located in the innovative Kalarabank Smart Village. Founded by Dr. Achyuta Samanta, the school focuses on delivering quality education and fostering holistic development. This visit, reflecting KIIT Deemed to be University’s commitment to community engagement, offered young learners an enriching opportunity to explore the vibrant campus and gain insights into higher education pathways.

The day began with a warm welcome at KSOM. After a brief refreshment break, the students had the privilege of interacting with Prof. (Dr.) Saranjit Singh, Vice Chancellor, KIIT-DU, who shared inspiring words. Following this, the students embarked on an escorted tour of the expansive KIIT campus, guided by the special representatives of KIIT.

As part of the campus tour, the group visited the IoT Lab and PLM Lab at the School of Electrical Engineering, where they observed cutting-edge technologies in action. Additionally, they explored the School of Mechanical Engineering and were introduced to various manual and automated machines, providing them with a practical glimpse into advanced engineering education. The students also visited the Law Campus, the Rose Garden, the Sculpture Park, and the aviary located in KSOM, enriching their experience with a blend of academics, nature, and art. The visit extended to the Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) campus, where the students interacted with their peers and experienced the unique environment of the institute.

Post lunch, the group gathered at Kalam Hall for an interactive session. The session commenced with an inspiring address by Prof. (Dr.) Suva Kanta Mohanty, Director, KSOM, followed by an enriching presentation by Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Sar. Prof. (Dr.) P.R. Sahoo also addressed the gathering, offering further encouragement and motivation. After these insightful sessions, KSOM students organized a fun quiz, creating a lively and engaging atmosphere.

To conclude the event, KSOM presented tokens of love to all the teachers from Kalinga English Medium School, marking the end of a memorable day. The students posed for a group photograph, capturing the joyous moments of their visit.

As they departed for Kalarabank, the students carried with them not only new knowledge and experiences but also a sense of belonging to the larger KIIT community. KIIT-DU remains steadfast in its mission to foster connections with rural communities and empower young minds. Through initiatives like this visit, the university seeks to bridge the gap between urban and rural areas, paving the way for a brighter and more inclusive future for all.
