KISS Vice Chancellor to get Rashtrapati Samman

Prof. (Dr.) Harekrishna Satapathy, Vice Chancellor, KISS Deemed to be University has been nominated to get the coveted “Rashtrapati Samman” for his outstanding contributions towards teaching and research as well as propagation of Sanskrit & Odia Language and Indian culture. A notification to this effect was published from the President’s Office on August 15, 2019.

A distinguished Sanskrit Scholar, researcher, educationist and orator, Prof. Satapathy has bagged several awards and accolades including Kendra Sahitya Academy, Odisha Sahitya Academy, Ramakrishna Dalmia Sribani Puraskar, Rabindranath Tagore Peace Award, Kalidas Samman, Jayadev Samman, Mahamahopaddhya title, and an award from the Higher Education Department of Maharashtra Government.

Prior to his joining at KISS Deemed to be University, he had successfully completed his stint as the Vice Chancellor of prominent Tirupati Sanskrit University, a central university, and Professor of Ravenshaw University. So far, he has written and published more than 40 books and hundreds of analytical texts. More than 100 students have been awarded M. Phil, PhD and D. Lit. degrees under his guidance. Prof. Satapathy has participated in many international conferences and seminars held in various universities across America, France, China and Thailand.

The prestigious “Rashtrapati Samman” is going to be conferred upon him for his comprehensive accomplishment and lifelong research. Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS has expressed pleasure and congratulated Prof. Satapathy for his remarkable achievement.
