KIMS Extends Medical support to flood Hit in Kerala
Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) have extended its medical support by sending 25 member medical team to Kerala today to render medical services to flood affected victims. Massive flood in Kerala divested the entire state and more than 10 lakh people have been affected by this flood. Now the water recedes and the fears have risen over the outbreak of diseases. The medical team will render health services to the flood victims in Ernakulam, Alappuzha, Thrissur and Kottayam district. The medical team will stay there for one month. KIMS have given the Rs. 10 lakhs towards the tour expenditure of the team. Besides, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS and BJD MP (RS) has also donated Rs. 2 lakh from him salary for medicine and other health kits. Raja Ramana of KIIT, who is also the convener for the medical team. All the 25 members of the team are working as doctors in KIMS. All of them belong to Kerala and Tamil Nadu. On the occasion Dr. Samanta, appreciated the enthusiasm of the medicos for their service to the people in distress. Besides many KIIT alumni are also in Kerala engaged them in rescue and relief work.
