KIIT YRC Volunteers Participate in State-Level HIV/AIDS Awareness Campaign
Volunteers of the Youth Red Cross (YRC), KIIT participated in the state-level launch of the Intensified IEC Campaign on HIV/AIDS Awareness, organized on the occasion of International Youth Day on 12th August 2026 at Jayee Rajguru Town Hall, Khordha. The programme was organized by the Odisha State AIDS Control Society (OSACS) in coordination with the District Administration, Khordha.
KIIT YRC volunteers presented a Nukkad Natak (street play) incorporating dance, songs and impactful messages to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS. The performance was presented in the presence of the Chief Guest, Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, Hon’ble Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Government of Odisha, the Collector, Khordha, and other senior dignitaries. Dr. Mahaling appreciated the volunteers for their enthusiastic and meaningful performance.
On the occasion, the Hon’ble Health Minister also launched and screened a video-cum-reel prepared by Ms. Bhavya Pandey, a second-year CSE student of KIIT, highlighting the important role of youth in spreading awareness about HIV/AIDS.
The event served as a meaningful platform to enhance public awareness, reduce stigma associated with HIV/AIDS, and encourage young people to contribute towards building a more informed, responsible and healthier society.
The participation of the KIIT YRC team was coordinated by YRC Counsellors Dr. Chitralekha Jena, Dr. Junali Jasmine Jena, Dr. Ajit Kumar Pasayat and Dr. Ramesh Chandra Sethi.
