KIIT Youth Red Cross Volunteers Join Flood Relief Efforts

Volunteers from the Youth Red Cross Society (YRC), KIIT, participated in a flood relief packaging drive at the Red Cross Bhawan, Bhubaneswar, today to support families affected by the recent floods in Odisha. The relief materials were prepared for distribution in the flood-hit districts of Bhadrak, Balasore, Jajpur, and other affected areas.

Working alongside members of the Indian Red Cross Society and fellow volunteers, the team packed essential food items, including sattu, sugar, biscuits, and chura (flattened rice). Every relief packet was carefully prepared to ensure that basic necessities reached those in need.

The initiative reflected the spirit of compassion, teamwork, and humanitarian service. By contributing their time and effort, the volunteers played a small yet meaningful role in supporting communities during a challenging time. The experience was deeply fulfilling for the volunteers, reinforcing the values of empathy, social responsibility, and selfless service. Through such initiatives, the Youth Red Cross Society, KIIT, continues to inspire students to serve society and uphold the true spirit of humanity.

The entire event was coordinated by KIIT YRC Counsellors Dr Chitralekha Jena, Dr Junali Jasmine Jena, Dr Ajit Kumar Pasayat, and Dr Ramesh Chandra Sethi.
