KIIT Water Research Group Organizes International Conference on ‘Sustainable Water Resources’
The International Conference on ‘Sustainable Water Resources (SWR-2021)’ was inaugurated on 29th January 2021. The conference is being organized virtually by the Water Research Group (WRG) of KIIT Deemed to be University from 29th January to 1st February 2021.
The objective of the conference is to provide a platform for intensive discussion on research outcomes by invited researchers, practitioners, and administrators from across the domain of Science, Engineering, Social Sciences, and Literature so as to strengthen mankind’s efforts towards making water resources sustainable.
Prof. H. Mohanty, Vice Chancellor, KIIT; Prof. Sudarshan Nanda, Head, CIR; Prof Jyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar; Dr. Rojalin Sahu, Associate Professor in Chemistry, School of Applied Sciences; and Dr. Sukanta Chandra Swain, Associate Professor, School of Humanities graced the inaugural ceremony.
In his address, Prof. Hrushikesh Mohanty spoke about how collaborative research can be done by researchers from different domains, starting from Science, Engineering, Literature to Social Sciences on specific themes like ‘water’’. Prof. Jyana Ranjan Mohanty highlighted the importance of collaborative research. Prof. Sudarshan Nanda spoke on the importance of water and research on water.
Earlier, Dr. Sahu, on behalf of the Organizing Committee and KIIT Deemed to be University, welcomed all the guests, invited speakers and participants to the conference. Dr. Swain spoke about the conference, its importance and proposed the vote of thanks.
Followed by inauguration, there was Technical Session-1 chaired by Dr. T K Bastia, Associate Professor, KIIT Deemed to be University wherein four invited speakers from IIT-Kharagpur, Rama Devi Women’s University, University of Alaska Fairbanks and KIIT Deemed to be University delivered their talks on water from different perspectives starting from engineering to social sciences.
