KIIT Staff Artist Ashok Pattanaik Enters Guinness World Records

In a significant achievement, Sri Ashok Kumar Pattanaik, Sr. Web Designer, Publication Cell, KIIT Deemed to be University and accomplished Artist, has entered into the coveted Guinness World Records on 7th August 2021 for participating in the event “The Most Photos of People Painting Uploaded in Facebook in 1 hour” throughan Online Competition held from 6 PM to 7PM on 2nd May 2021. He received a Gold medal and certificate of participation from Guinness World Records for the purpose.  

Organized by USA-based International Artists Radart Foundation (IARF), as many as 900 Artists hailing from 900 cities from 26 states in India and another 200 artists from 112 foreign countries had taken part in this online competition. Out of the total 1149 Art works, 797 works were found eligible to be included  in Guinness World Records.

Sri Pattanaik, an M. Phil in Painting who specializes in Fine Arts in general and Traditional Pattachitra in particular, has been participating in various international shows and competitions via online mode. “Though I have been acknowledged by various Art Galleries and organizations, but it is a whooping accomplishment and honour for me to be a part of the prestigious Guinness World Records “, said an elated Sri Pattanaik.

While the inclusion of his feat in Guinness World Records has been the monumental recognition for him so far, being a seasoned campaigner, he has numerous awards and accolades under his belt. He has the distinction of bagging Odisha Lalit Kala Academy award way back in 1998-99. He was awarded with the National Online Exhibition Picasso Award-2021 organized by Birendra Memorial Fine Art and Culture, West Bengal. He also bagged 2nd position and received a silver medal in an online art competition organized by Sigma Art Gallery.

“I dedicate my World Record to all the family members of KIIT, KISS & KIMS. It has been possible by the blessings of Lord Sri Sri Jagannath and Hon’ble Founder of KIIT & KISS Dr. Achyuta Samanta”, said an unassuming Sri Pattanaik.
