KIIT SoEE Conducts Autumn Semester Orientation Program-2020

KIIT School of Electrical Engineering conducted Autumn Semester Orientation Program-2020 for the students of B. Tech. Program (3rd, 5th and 7th Semester, Electrical) on 22nd July, 2020. At the outset, the welcome address was placed by Prof. Sanhita Mishra, Dr. B. Mishra and Prof. S.R. Prusty (Semester Coordinators of 3rd, 5th and 7th Semester). For the last three days, all course faculty and course coordinators connected mindsets of students on a virtual platform and they presented the slides very nicely about course objectives, course outcomes, lesson plan, concept of student representatives, components of evaluation for each activity and research credential.

New Course structure was demonstrated nicely by Dr. M.K. Maharana, Program Head, Ph.D.. Modality and challenges during Online Theory classes by Dr S.R.Jena, FIC, QAC, SoEE.  Similarly, modality for online lab classes was addressed by Dr. B.K.Nayak, Program Head, M.Tech. Different activities for online Examination were elucidated by Dr. R. N. Senapati, Deputy Controller, SoEE. Ongoing different training and placement activities of the School and University were explained by Prof. S. Behera, Associate Dean (T & P), SoEE. Inter/Multi Disciplinary Research Activities of the School was demonstrated by Dr S.Kundu, FIC, MDR, SoEE. Scope of Professional Society Activities and benefit of student membership were explored by Dr S. Debdas, FIC, School Society, SoEE. Students’ Discipline during online classes was discussed by Dr. S. C. Swain, Associate Dean, SoEE.

Few students shared their experience for online examination and online classes and they were very thankful to KIIT Authorities for completion of the semester as per the Academic Calendar. Dr. C. K. Panigrahi, Director, SoEE advised the students to cooperate and to follow the instructions of each course faculty during this Covid-19 pandemic situation. He urged that online classes and virtual labs was a new experience for all of us and it has been a challenge to make in a valued manner. He advised to complete online Courses in emerging technology or any topic of interest. As per views of students, the School decided to start GATE Classes and subject domain classes for 7th semester students. Vote of thanks was given by Student Representatives of each semester. During the orientation program, all students, faculty members, Technical assistants, M. Tech. Scholars and Research Scholars of the School were present and they appreciated the speakers of each session.
