KIIT Signs MOU with Ernst & Young LLP, India

KIIT Deemed to be University signed an MOU with Ernst & Young LLP, India on 4th March, 2020. The Signing in Ceremony took place in the office of the Pro-Vice Chancellor of KIIT DU Prof. Sasmita Samanta in the presence of Director of School of Civil Engineering along with the team members of Technical Support  and Project Management Unit.

Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Pro-Vice Chancellor signed the MOU on behalf of  KIIT Deemed to be University, while Mr. Sarith Sasidharan, Advisory Services, Government & Public Sector, E&Y LLP, Bengaluru represented the Ernst & Young LLP, India.

The MOU was called for as a part of the vision Swachh Odisha Sustha Odisha’of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha by adopting sanitation through Faecal Sludge and Septage Management (FSSM). In fact, Ernst & Young LLP (EY) has been working with the Housing & Urban Development Department (H&UDD), Government of Odisha as a Technical Support Unit (TSU) for implementing Faecal Sludge and Septage Management (FSSM) in Odisha since 2016.

As phase II of the program, the State Government has now embarked to scale FSSM services from nine AMRUT Mission towns to 114 towns spreading across 30 districts. The E&Y led TSU has engaged Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), Bhubaneshwar in 8 districts of Odisha to build local technical capabilities and execute the interventions.

The partnership shall focus on two areas: (1) Urban FSSM Fellowship Program to support at program delivery at district level (2) Technical support through R&D to identify improvement in existing FSSM infrastructure, Inclusion of FSSM in academic curriculum and Training infrastructure to conduct FSSM programs.
