KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering organizes Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp (EAC)
School of Mechanical Engineering(SME), KIIT Deemed to be University organizes Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp (EAC) from 13th to 15th December, 2018 at its premises. It is being sponsored by NSTEDB, Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi.
Gracing the Inaugural Session held at SME Seminar Hall today as the Chief Guest, Sri S.N. Panda, Founder Chairman of Cuttack based Jay Bharat Spices(P) Ltd. focused on the methods needed to proceed ahead. “It has been proved time and again that intense willpower amalgamated with sheer honesty and dedication to your cause fetch success whatever you want to do. Actually willpower is the key to move yourself forward and when you master it then nothing seems impossible,” said Sri Panda in his address to the Mechanical Engineering students of KIIT DU.
He emphasized on two principles those required to excel in business i.e. Customer is God and Honesty is God. “My honesty, dedication, response and love for customers have often been instrumental to realize success in my life,” he remarked. Though problem is reigning everywhere, however we have to move ahead at any cost defying the possibility of accidents, added Sri Panda.
Mr. C.R. Pattanayak, Regional Coordinator, EDII, Bhubaneswar (Eastern Zone) hailed the students of the school as change agents. “You can shape the country, because you have a lot of energy to make the way you like. The country needs you people as the contributor in the areas of wealth creation and employment generation,” said Mr. Pattanayak.
Actually, Entrepreneurship is the real key towards development of a nation and it shapes the whole economy of a country. You need to be an entrepreneur first to make a startup success. It is the enterprising attitude that can make you successful. You have to create challenging goals for yourself and for that motivation is needed which in turn comes from within ,” he elucidated.
In this context, he hailed the incredible success of 89 years old Mr. S.N. Panda as an entrepreneur, who started his journey with only 700 rupees and in course of time transformed this meager investment into 700 crore rupees turnover by virtue of his tremendous diligence and dedication. “Remarkably, Mr. S.N. Panda is the first generation entrepreneur who started his business at the ripe age of 60. If he could, then why not we,” urged Mr. Pattanayak to the students.
Dr. Ramababu Kodali, Pro-VC, KIIT DU said that we have aspiration since birth and should develop capabilities in tandem gradually and subsequently strengthen our knowledge and skill. However, the most important factor is that self change attitude for garnering courage which is the key to excel in entrepreneurship. By and large, there are 4 parameters which are required for differentiation, i.e. self change attitude, quality, cost and availability for fetching success in business.
At the outset, Prof. A.K. Rout, Convener-EAC placed the welcome address. Prof. A.K. Sahoo Dean, KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering was also present and spoke on the occasion while Citations were given to students who had participated in a similar camp held last year.
Eventually, proposing Vote of Thanks, Prof. Susanta Tripathy of SME said, Sri S.N. Panda has proved that age is merely a number and it hardly matters when one is endowed with enormous willpower and self confidence like him.
