KIIT School of Commerce & Economics conducts Workshop on Budget 2020-21

A Workshop on the Budget for the financial year 2020-21 was conducted by the School of Commerce & Economics, KIIT Deemed to be University on 6th February, 2020. Students of the School presented a detailed analysis of the Budget lucidly explaining all the aspects including Direct/Indirect Taxation, Infrastructure, Education, Start-up Development, MSME, Pension, House Hold, Women Empowerment, NRI Banking, Finance Sector and Technology Development etc.

The presentation was important in the backdrop of Govt. of India’s Initiatives in areas of Digital Governance covering Society, Rural Development, Skill/Education Policy, Investments in commerce and Industry as well as ushering in a new economy. There was also discussion on Revenue/Fiscal Deficit and Management apart from disinvestment in PSUs, Personal Taxation etc.

The Workshop was also attended by 2 resource persons namely Prof. S.N. Mishra, Director, KSOM and Dr. C.K. Das, Director (Admn.) Founder’s Office who gave a detailed and elaborate analysis of the Budget for the understanding of the students.

The Workshop was chaired by Prof. Jayanta Parida, Director, Quality Assurance Cell, KIIT DU, who exhorted the students to arrange many more such workshops for dissemination of information of the knowledge amongst all the schools and stakeholders of the University.
