KIIT School of Civil Engineering organized “KALOPSIA 2K19”
The B. Tech Fresher’s Welcome Function, “KALOPSIA 2K19” of KIIT School of Civil Engineering was held on 19th September, 2019 at KIMS Auditorium, Campus-5.
The function was graced by Prof. Hrushikesh Mohanty, Vice Chancellor, KIIT DU; Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Pro-Vice Chancellor, KIIT DU; Prof. Biswajit Sahoo, Director, Student Affairs, KIIT DU; and Prof. B.G. Mohapatra, Director, School of Civil Engineering.
Prof. Hrushikesh Mohanty elucidated the role of the students to maintain the eminence of the University in terms of academic, research and alumni connect. He expressed his happiness for the presence of international students in the school which will help to maintain a global environment in the school. He also stressed upon formation of sector-wise research groups from the entry level in order to create a passion among the students.
Prof. Sasmita Samanta appreciated the passion, confidence and commitment shown by the students in organizing the event and advised to one and all to utilize the university platform to excel in their own field and was impressed with the creativity and innovation ideas of the Civil Engineering students. She emphasized on the scope and opportunities available in Civil Engineering. She particularly stressed upon Entrepreneurship which is the need of the hour.
Prof. Biswajit Sahoo emphasized on the importance of the Civil Engineers in the development of a sustainable society. He specifically cited few interesting examples on the need of Civil Engineers.
Prof. B.G. Mohapatra shared the glorious achievements of the School and motivated the students to face the challenges through hard work and dedication. He also appraised the young students of school about the strategic decisions implemented by the leadership to build a robust academic system which ensures the all-round development of the students.
The students performed various cultural activities and enthralled the audience. The program was witnessed by the other Honorary Guests, Faculty Members, Students of the school and other Administrative Staff. The overall arrangements and performances were observed meticulously by different Faculty-coordinators under the close observation of Prof. Gaurav Udgata, Overall Coordinator; Prof. Kundan Samal, Co-coordinator and Prof. S. Moulick, Associate Dean, KIIT School of Civil Engineering.
