KIIT Organizes Grand Alumni Meet ‘Kamyaab’ to Commemorate Silver Jubilee Celebration
The Grand Alumni Meet of KIIT Deemed-to-be-University ‘Kamyaab’ was held at the University campus on Saturday in the presence of thousands of former students from the first to the last pass-out batch to commemorate the Silver Jubilee celebration.
Addressing the gathering, the Founder of KIIT and KISS Dr Achyuta Samanta said the alumni have a great role to play in building the KIIT brand. He said that if the alumni are active, KIIT will grow and reach out to all sections of society. “Strengthening alumni is strengthening KIIT,” he underlined.
He encouraged the former students to remain positive, happy and spread happiness in society. “Try to be good to yourselves. If you are not good to yourself you are not good to anybody. I do not have anything even today but I receive the love and affection of the people because I am good to myself” he said.
KIIT Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Saranjeet Singh said the sustained love and affection towards the university right from the first batch to the existing batch remains a major unifying factor. He said that the revolution that Dr Samanta has created will grow even bigger and realise his vision of spreading education among all sections of society.
KIIT Vice Chancellor Prof Sasmita Samanta said in the course of the last 25 years, KIIT has produced IAS and IPS toppers as well as successful entrepreneurs. She said that KIIT has not only emerged as one of the top 20 universities in the country but has also been recognised for its academic excellence worldwide. She expressed confidence that in the next three years, KIIT will be ranked among the top 300 universities in the globe.
Several alumni shared their emotions and memories associated with the universities. They included civil servants, technocrats and engineers who are doing well in their respective careers.
A cultural programme was organised by the alumni during the day which also saw the participation of the former students in fun games, sports activities, musical chair competitions etc. The individual departments also greeted the alumni on the occasion.
