The Wordsmith, the Literary(Writing) Society of KIIT Student Activity Centre organized Quillorama on 15th September, 2019. An endeavour of KIIT Wordsmith to encourage students to write is their annual event, Quillorama, a flash-fiction writing contest.

Flash-Fiction is a piece, which is very short and doesn’t  exceed five-hundred words, yet equals the experience of reading a novella. The idea of flash-fiction can be resonated to childhood classics such as Aesops’s Fables and Panchatantra. Participants were given sixty minutes to show their proficiency.

Quillorama 3.0 was conducted and like its previous editions witnessed lots of enthusiastic participation. Winners of the competition were conferred with a trophy, an opportunity to be published in one of  The Write Order’s anthologies and they shall directly get a chance to sit at the interview for the Editorial Board of Kritika(Annual Student’s Maganize) and Kirti(Annual Women’s Maganize).

The event was graced by Dr. Shyam Sundar Behura-Deputy Director, Student Services; Ms. Santwana Sagnika-Faculty Coordinator of KIIT Wordsmith and Shri Aryaman Chetas, an enthusiast of languages, linguistics and literature, as its Guest of Honour. Shri Aryaman Chetas runs a group called Sambhasha, which has a multiple programs for various causes relevant to Indian languages under Samskriya. The enthusiasm of the participants was gratifying and it corroborates that our youth still appreciates quality penmanship.
