KIIT Hostel Premier League – ‘Online Poetry Contest’
Every year KIIT conducts ‘Hostel Premier League’ as outdoor and indoor events for boarders. This year, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the event was conducted on virtual mode as ‘Online Quiz Contest’ and ‘Online Poetry Contest’. The borders of different boys and girls hostels, currently residing at home, participated enthusiastically. The ‘Online Poetry Contest’ was conducted in three categories – English, Hindi and Bengali.
Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS has declared 2021 as ‘The Year of Love’. Taking inspiration from this, it was decided to connect with KIITians at home through virtual events. Necessary arrangements were made for the event under the guidance and encouragement of Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Pro Vice Chancellor, KIIT-DU. Around 350 boarders registered for the ‘Online Poetry Contest’. Scrutiny and verification was conducted by Dr. Pallavi Kiran, Asst. Professor, School of Humanities and Ms. Dipanwita Sinha, Asst. Professor, School of Law.
Shri S. K. Rath, Director, Hostel felicitated all the participants and congratulated them for the successful completion of the event. He gave away the prizes and e-certificates. Shri Deepak Kumar Mohanty, Asst. Registrar, Hostel welcomed all the participants, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Shri Tapan Kumar Pati, Administrative Officer.
E-certificates, duly signed by Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Dr. Samaresh Mishra, Director, Students’ Affairs and Shri S. K. Rath, were sent to all participants along with cash prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions. The event was successfully coordinated by the Executives of the hostel.
