KIIT Hostel Premier League – ‘Online Essay Contest’ on “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav”

Every year KIIT conducts ‘Hostel Premier League’ as outdoor and indoor events for boarders. This year, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the event was conducted in virtual mode. On the occasion of “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ , KIIT Hostel conducted its 4th event ‘Online Essay Contest’ among the boarders of different boys and girls hostels currently residing at home on 5th October 2021. Earlier this year, KIIT Hostel has already conducted Quiz, Poetry & Painting contests through virtual mode amongst boarders.

Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS has declared 2021 as ‘The Year of Love’. Taking inspiration from this, it was decided to connect with KIITians at home through virtual events. Around 200 boarders registered online for the ‘Online Essay Contest’.  Scrutiny and verification of the write-ups received from the participants was done by Dr. Itishri Sarangi, Associate Professor, School of Humanities and Dr. Pallavi Kiran, Asst. Professor, School of Humanities.

Shri S. K. Rath, Director, Hostel welcomed all the participants, felicitated and congratulated them for the successful completion of the event. He also declared the distribution of the E-Certificates. Vote of thanks was proposed by Shri Tapan Kumar Pati, Administrative Officer, Hostel. E-certificates signed by Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr. Samaresh Mishra, Director, Students’ Affairs and Shri S. K. Rath were sent to all participants along with the winners of 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions.

Mr. Mekonnen Lulie Eratu, boarder of KP-6C, and Miss Sudeshna Dutta, boarder of QC-03 won the First and Second Prize respectively. Miss Nidhi Kanth, boarder of QC-3, and Mr. Neelanjan Ghosh, boarder of KP-9C, received the Third Prize. The event was successfully coordinated by Shri Satyajit Das, Executive and Shri. Jagannath Giri, Executive.
