The Department of Hostel, KIIT conducted a Hostel Premier League Intra-Hostel Cricket Tournament for the First Year students from 20th January to 21st February 2024. The immensely popular tournament witnessed participation from 407 boarders grouped into 37 teams. It was a nine-a-side eight-over tournament that consisted of 11 team members in a playing squad. The event was planned and coordinated by Mr. Sudhir Kumar Rath, Director of the hostel, and officials of the Hostel Department. The event was thoroughly enjoyed by the students and helped them settle down in the new environment.
Prizes for Champions and Runners-Up were given away at the Closing Ceremony held on 21st February 2024. It was graced by Vice-Chancellor Dr. Saranjit Singh; Prof. (Dr.) Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar; Mr. Sibanand Mishra, Director General, HR; Dr. Samaresh Mishra, Director, Student Affairs; Mr. P. K. Chamupaty, Joint Registrar (Administration); Mr. Lalatendu Mishra, Director, Sports; and officials of the KIIT Hostel Department, including Superintendents and Deputy Superintendents of 1st-year hostels. Certificates, Mementos, and Trophies were presented to all participants.
