KIIT Fest 6.0 Kicks Off

The sixth edition of the much awaited techno-cultural festival of KIIT Deemed to be University, KIIT Fest 6.0, was inaugurated by Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS in the presence of Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Pro-VC, KIIT; Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar; Prof. Biswajit Sahu, Director, Student Affairs and Dr. Syam Sundar Behura, Dy. Director, Student Services on 16th December, 2019.

Remarkably, KIIT Fest is the biggest University level techno-cultural festival in eastern India. The annual fest has attracted a crowd of more than 25,000 students, including more than 5000 students from various reputed technical institutes and universities of the country.

For three days, the students will compete in various events in the field of technology, culture and art. Hindi post-rock band, an internationally reputed band, performed on the inaugural day. The main attraction of the festival is Amit Trivedi, popular theatre and jingle composer and famous music director, who will perform on 17th December. Eminent Musical artist Ritviz will perform on 18th December.  The total prize money for various competitions is ₹25 lakhs, which is the highest amount for any University technical festival in India.

During the three-day fest, students will take part in different events in various technical, cultural and innovative competitions like Instant-O-Fie, Chitra-Vichitra, Hip-Hop Cypher, Spotlight, Dekh-Tamasha-Dekh, Star Salesman, Zara Nachke Dikha Solo & Duet and Group, unveil- The Slam Poetry Event, Buzz Write Year, Frozen In Time, Melange, Fuego, Mismatch, Alankaar, Innovation, Perplex, Robotics, Coding, Business Marketing, Quizfest Events- Flames Quiz, Biz-Tech Quiz, Workshops, Say Hi To Py, etc.

During the inaugural session, annual magazine of KIIT Fest ‘Kritika’, magazine of Civil Engineering Department- ‘Nirminite’, magazine of Computer Science Department ‘Kibibyte’, magazine of Electronics Department ‘Kuriosity’ and magazine of Mechanical Engineering Department- ‘Yantra NXT’ were released by the dignitaries.
