KIIT-DU Holds Special Convocation for Foreign Students; 411 Graduates Awarded Degrees

KIIT-DU hosted a special convocation ceremony on 25th May, 2025 to confer degrees upon international students from the graduating class of 2024. A total of 411 foreign students received their degrees in various disciplines, including PhD, postgraduate, and undergraduate programs. Abhinay Anand and Dilushi Shashikala Prabodani Herath Herath Mudiyanselage were awarded the Founder’s Gold Medal for securing the top position among the graduates.

Speaking on the occasion, KIIT-DU Chancellor Ashok Kumar Parija highlighted the transformative power of education and urged the students to channel their knowledge toward societal and global welfare.

Pro Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Subrat Acharya, in his convocation address, stressed the importance of character, empathy, and service alongside academic excellence. “To become a good human being, one must have education, the capacity to eradicate poverty, compassion, and a spirit of altruism,” he said, adding that KIIT instills these values in its students.

Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT and KISS, graced the event and congratulated the graduating students on their achievements, encouraging them to be ambassadors of positive change in the world.

The ceremony was attended by a host of dignitaries, including KIIT-DU Vice Chancellor Prof. Saranjit Singh, Pro-Vice Chancellors Prof. (Dr.) C.B.K. Mohanty; Prof. Debasis Bandopadhyay; and KIIT-DU Registrar Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, along with deans, directors, and faculty members from various departments.
