KIIT-DU Conducts Online KIIT Project Expo-2021

KIIT Deemed to be University successfully conducted the Online KIIT Project Expo-2021 on 3rd May 2021. Considering the pandemic situation, the university-level Project Expo was organized online using Zoom and YouTube Live and was witnessed by over 600 participants via virtual mode. It provided a platform for the 2021 passing out students to showcase their final year project works that covered all the different fields of engineering like Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

During this session, top three projects from each school (i.e. School of Computer Engineering, School of Electrical Engineering, School of Civil Engineering, School of Electronics Engineering and School of Mechanical Engineering) were showcased. The selected teams demonstrated their innovative projects. The projects were evaluated by a panel of five external experts including Dr. Md. Tanwir Uddin Haider, Department of CSE, NIT Patna; Dr. U. K. Rout, CET, BBSR; Dr. K. C. Gouda, DGM (Project), Indian Port Rail and Rope-way Corporation Ltd., Bhubaneswar; Dr. Jyotiranjan Mohanty, Department of Mechanical Engineering, VSSUT, Burla; and Mr. Mihir Kumar Dash, Director, Business Intelligence Professionals Pvt Ltd., Bhubaneswar. After the presentation and demonstration of the projects by the students, the experts panel decided the winners of the KIIT Project Expo. The project presentation session was managed by Mrs. Lipika Mohanty, School of Computer Engineering.

All the participants were present along with faculty members of different schools at the valedictory ceremony. The event was hosted by Ms. Junali Jasmine Jena, School of Computer Engineering. In his welcome address, Dr. Jagannath Singh, Coordinator, KIIT Project Expo-2021 from School of Computer Engineering, informed about the process of conducting the school level project expo, and then nominating top three projects from each school to participate in KIIT Project Expo.

Prof. Suprava Patnaik, Dean, School of Electronics Engineering delivered her talk on the importance of this event in the current scenario. Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT-DU presented the view of the university to conduct such type of event. This event would help the junior students to learn from their seniors and develop innovative projects in future, he said. Prof. Mohanty also declared the winners of KIIT Project Expo-2021.

The 1st prize winner: Optimization Of Intake Manifold Of Single Cylinder 4-Stroke Engine– School of Mechanical Engineering,  Debanjan  Dasgupta, Shubham  Kumar, Dhruv  Pathak, Subham  Goswami, Mohit Kumar Chaudhary, Prof. I Panigrahi.

2nd prize winner: Design of a Steel Intensive Quarantine Centre Building for Covid-19– School of Civil Engineering – Shivanshi  Trivedi, Prof. Dipti Ranjan Biswal.

3rd prize winner: Web Application For Heart Disease Prediction Using Machine Learning And Delivering Insights Using Augmented Reality – School of Computer Engineering- Suchismita Banerjee, Disha Kar, Prof. Bindu  Agarwalla.

Dr. Byamakesh Nayak, Dean, School of Electrical Engineering, Dr. Sanjib Moulick, Dean, School of Civil Engineering and Dr. Bharat Chandra Routra, Dean, School of Mechanical Engineering, were present. The event concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. Bhabani Shankar Prasad Mishra, Dean, School of Computer Engineering.
