KIIT Career Advisory & Augmentation School Organizes Workshop on ‘Cyber Security’
A Workshop-cum-Webinar on ‘Cyber Security’ was organized by KIIT Career Advisory & Augmentation School for B. Tech and MCA students. It also covered Ethical Hacking / Bug Bounty. Speaking at the webinar, Mr. Sandeep Sengupta explained the necessity of ethical hacking and cyber security. He outlined different wings of cyber security and job opportunities in the field, while touching upon the topics in the workshop. Live demonstrations and hands on exercises in different areas were also held for the participants.
He congratulated Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS for his consistent support and encouragement for the growth of quality technical education across the nation and commended the students community for adopting new technologies and learning for a better tomorrow. Mr. Sengupta has over two decades of experience in Information/Cyber Security in India and abroad. He is a Regional Committee Member at NASSCOM and associated with the West Bengal Government Cyber Security – Centre of Excellence.
Earlier, setting the context of the webinar, Dr. Suman Bhattacharya, Director, CAAS stated that the pandemic has resulted in evolving the online market and an increasing need for cyber security. In view of the rising cyber crime, the UGC has asked universities and their affiliated colleges to create awareness among students to tackle the unforeseen challenges of cybercrime and to strengthen Cyber Security, he added.
Prof. Priyadarshi Biswal, Dean, CAAS convened the meeting. Cyber security is of utmost importance for the upcoming placement preparedness, he said, proposing the vote of thanks.
