KIIT Academicians Contribute Chapters to Book “Human Resource Management and Mental Health – A Psychosocial Aspect”

Three academicians from KIIT Deemed to be University – Dr. Isa Mishra, Dr. Shradha Padhi, Associate Professors, KIIT School of Management (KSOM) and Dr. Swapnamoyee Palit, Assistant Professor (Economics), KIIT School of Humanities – have contributed chapters to the book “Human Resource Management and Mental Health – A Psychosocial Aspect”. The book has been edited by Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Pro-VC, KIIT-DU; Dr. Biswabandita Kar, Dean, KIIT School of Applied Sciences and Dean, Research & Development Cell; Dr. Sandeep Poddar, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Research & Innovation), Lincoln University College, Malaysia; and Dr. Amiya Bhaumik, President, Lincoln University College.

The book was published on 25th June, 2021 by Lincoln Research and Publishing Limited, Australia – LRPL (different printed and Online Open Access peer reviewed journals and books regularly, with eISSN, ISBN and Cross Ref doi) in collaboration with Lincoln University College, Malaysia – LUC (an ISO 9001:2015 certified academic institution and listed among the top nine Malaysian universities according to the Times Higher Education (THE) University Impact Rankings 2019).

The foreword of the book has been written by Dr. Léo-Paul Dana, Honorary Professor, Amity Business School, India; Professor, Dalhousie University, Canada; Professor, Montpellier Business School, France; Visiting Professor at Kingston University, UK; Chaire ETI, Sorbonne Business School, France. He has an extensive research background studying entrepreneurship in different cultures and has produced 45 books and 295 articles appearing in a variety of illustrious journals.

The book showcases the various psychosocial factors at the workplace which affect the mindset of the workforce. This includes psychological demands of the workforce, social support, revamped role of HR managers, customized HR practices and more. The importance of studying these factors has increased substantially, in the context of the VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, ambiguous) environment. The pandemic has precipitated massive changes in the work arena, which have been addressed by these chapters. Hence, the timing of the book could not have been more appropriate.

Chapters of the book have been contributed by 17 eminent authors, including three from KIIT-DU – Dr. Isa Mishra, Dr. Shradha Padhi and Dr. Swapnamoyee Palit. Dr. Isa Mishra has over 23 years of working experience in all gamut of HR in varied sectors. Dr. Shradha Padhi has over 25 years of professional experience which includes 17+ years in the field of Learning and Development. Dr. Mishra and Dr. Padhi are also Executive Members of NHRDN. Dr. Swapnamoyee Palit is an Assistant Professor at KIIT School of Humanities.
