KIIT Academic Empowerment Program(K-AEP) Inaugurated

The KIIT Academic Empowerment Program (K-AEP) on ‘Teaching, Learning & Research @HEIs: Integrating SDGs, NEP 2020 & Viksit Bharat 2047 Framework’ was inaugurated on June 22, 2024. Organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at KIIT-DU, K-AEP is an eight-day faculty development program held across various schools of the University.

The inaugural session was graced by Dr. Pratapsinh Kakasaheb Desai, President, ISTE; Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS; Prof. (Dr.) Saranjit Singh, Vice Chancellor, KIIT-DU; Prof. (Dr.) Subrata Kumar Acharya, Pro Chancellor; Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar; and other dignitaries. The dignitaries released four booklets on KIIT–AEP 2024, prepared by IQAC, KIIT-DU, including the Viksit Bharat@2047 series, the Annual Report 2023-24, and the Academic Empowerment Report 2023-24.

In his address, Dr. Pratapsinh Kakasaheb Desai discussed the strength of the Indian education system in producing technocrats and the need to empower the youth with good character. He praised the Indian education system for producing over half of the world’s technocrats and emphasized the importance of empowering the youth, who form a significant portion of India’s population. Education must cultivate good character, he stressed.

Addressing the faculty members, Dr. Achyuta Samanta emphasized the importance of practicing active listening. He stated that integrating real-life experiences into classroom studies can make learning more engaging and effective. He commended the faculty for their continuous and dedicated efforts toward the University’s betterment and encouraged them to produce more publications through quality research. Dr. Samanta highlighted that KIIT-DU is recognized nationally and internationally for its quality education and underlined the significance of the internationalization of higher education for both India and KIIT. By fostering a global perspective and enhancing research output, KIIT aims to further elevate its academic standing, he added.

Prof. (Dr.) Subrata Kumar Acharya discussed the steps for India’s development under the ‘Viksit Bharat’ theme. In his welcome address, Prof. Saranjit Singh highlighted the University’s extensive infrastructure, particularly its world-class sports facilities. He stressed the integration of the New Education Policy 2020 and the Viksit Bharat framework in Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) through the Academic Empowerment Program (AEP). Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty proposed the vote of thanks.
