IRO KIIT Organizes a Heritage Walk to Kalabhoomi – Odisha Crafts Museum, Bhubaneswar

As part of its efforts to provide international students with immersive cultural experiences, the International Relations Office (IRO), KIIT-DU, organized a Heritage Walk to Kalabhoomi – Odisha Crafts Museum, Bhubaneswar. The educational visit enabled students to explore Odisha’s rich artistic traditions and gain first-hand exposure to the state’s renowned handicrafts and handloom heritage.

Kalabhoomi – Odisha Crafts Museum, developed by the Government of Odisha, is one of India’s leading museums dedicated exclusively to the preservation, promotion, and documentation of Odisha’s traditional arts and crafts.

During the visit, the students learned about the history, symbolism, and craftsmanship behind Odisha’s Geographical Indication (GI)-tagged textiles and handicrafts, as well as the contribution of these traditional industries to the state’s economy and cultural identity.

The students actively interacted exchanging perspectives on traditional art forms from their respective countries and recognizing the universal role of art in preserving history, identity, and community values. Officials from the International Relations Office (IRO) accompanied the students.
