The journey of democracy in India right from the Vedic Period till date has few parallels in the world.  The democratic system in India, built on the strength of inclusiveness and diversity, has evolved over the ages.

In order to celebrate hoary Indian democratic traditions, KIIT invited Prof. (Dr.) Sujit Kaur Jolly, Member, ICHR, Former Principal Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College, University of Delhi, who  delivered a lecture on the theme “Democratic Features of Namdharis in India” on  25th November 2022. Students and faculty members of the University attended the lecture.

Later Prof. Jolly also met the Vice Chancellor and Registrar to discuss about the importance of history in the University curriculum.

She was amazed by the beauty of KISS Deemed University, especially when she interacted with the indigenous students. She praised the beautiful creation of The Almighty i.e. KISS & paid her regards to Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT and KISS for his vision & unique contribution for promoting inclusiveness of tribal children into the mainstream of the society.

Prof. Jolly commented, “Prof. Achyuta Samanta is relentlessly working for the underprivileged children without making any noise and giving them eyes to see the world. If the government would bestow Bharat Ratna on him then the value of Bharat Ratna will be multiplied”.
