Invited Lecture on Fundamentals and Applications of Nano-Materials at KIIT

An invited lecture under the aegis of COIR–CNGMT, KIIT was delivered by Prof. B. L. V. Prasad, Director, Centre for Nano and Soft Matter Sciences (CeNS), Bangalore, on 3rd February 2026 focusing on the fundamentals, recent developments, and future scope of nano-materials.

The lecture provided a comprehensive overview of nano-materials, highlighting their unique size-dependent properties and their significant impact on areas such as energy, electronics, catalysis, healthcare, and sustainable technologies.

Prof. B. L. V.Prasad emphasized the importance of rational design, synthesis, and advanced characterization techniques in translating nano-science into practical applications. The session was highly engaging and intellectually stimulating for students, researchers, and faculty members, effectively bridging fundamental research with real-world applications.

The event was attended by Prof. Gopal C. Kundu, Director (R&D); Prof. Suresh Chandra Sathpathy, Director of Doctoral Research & Publications; Dr. Amlan Panda, Assistant Registrar (R&D); Prof. Rojalin Sahu (convener) and Head, COIR-CNGMT, along with other faculty members and CNGMT team members, whose presence added value to the academic interaction.

Visit of Prof. B. L. V. Prasad and interaction with the academic and research community greatly motivated students and researchers, and the session significantly contributed to strengthening research engagement and collaborative opportunities under COIR–CNGMT, KIIT.
