“International Conference on Trends in Biotechnology for Innovations in Health and Environment”

KIIT School of Biotechnology (KSBT) in association with Indian Network for Soil Contamination Research (INSCR) organizes “International Conference on Trends in Biotechnology for Innovations in Health and Environment” on 26thand 27th September, 2018.

Presiding over the Inaugural Session held  at Campus-11, Prof. Hrushikesh Mohanty, VC of KIIT Deemed to be University remarked that, environment has been the biggest concern for mankind. Though the changes in environment are natural, but some of them are manmade. We need to solve the problems related to environment. Particularly, we have to look at the technology in order to meet the challenges thrown by environment.

Advising the researchers, the VC said, “you all the budding researchers should look into for exceptionally innovative solutions.” I hope that KSBT will take the ethos of innovation forward, he added.

Dr.  Ajay Parida, Director of Institute of Life Sciences, Bhubaneswar, who is also the Joint Organizer of INSCR said the theme of the conference has become everybody’s concern now a days. We have try to find out the solution. We are actually responsible for soil contamination.

Prof. P.K. Seth, Founding CEO of Bio-Tech Park and the President of INSCR talked on Soil Contamination Research. He said that biological products ought to be invented to detect the type of diseases. The Life Time Achievement Award was conferred upon Dr. P.K. Seth on this occasion.

The Guest of Honour, Dr. Bente Foreid, Norwegian Institute of Bio-Economy Research  Prof. Rup Lal, Secretary, INSCR and Dr. A.K. Dixit were also present among the distinguished dignitaries and spoke on the occasion.

At the outset, placing the welcome address, Dr. Mrutyunjay Suar, Director, KIIT School of Biotechnology said such type of conferences are going to benefit the mankind. Dr. Vishakha Raina, Associate Professor and Associate Dean(Academic) who is also the Organizing Secretary of INSCR elaborated the essence and objective of the conference in a nutshell and eventually proposed vote of thanks.
