The 15th edition of “International Conference on Distributed Computing and Internet Technology ICDCIT-2019” is being hosted and sponsored by Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar from  10th  to 13th  January, 2019 .

The 15th ICDCIT was inaugurated on 11th January, 2019 in presence of Prof. (Dr.) Ratnam V. Rajkumar, Director, IIT Bhubaneswar; Prof. (Dr.) Raja Natrajan, TIFR Mumbai; Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty, Vice Chancellor of KIIT-DU; Dr. Samaresh Mishra, Dean, SCE and Dr. Manjusha Pandey, Organizing Chair, ICDCIT-2019 along with a host of distinguished delegates at Auditorium, Campus-7.

Prof. Dr. Hrushikesha Mohanty, Vice Chancellor of KIIT-DU, founder and advisory committee member of ICDCIT 2019  shared the challenges faced by ICDCIT since its inception till its 15th edition. He appreciated in saying, this edition of ICDCIT has reached its excellence.

Gracing the conference as Chief Guest, Prof. Dr. Ratnam V. Rajkumar, Director, IIT Bhubaneswar, put light on the evolution of Internet Technology and its importance.

Prof. Dr. Raja Natrajan, TIFR Mumbai, advisory committee member of ICDCIT 2019 elaborated on the future of ICDCIT.

Prof. Dr. Meenakshi D’Souza from International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore, India placed her deliberations on the topic Avionics Self-adaptive Software: Towards Formal Verification and Validation.

Prof. Dr. Christian Erfurth from University of Applied Sciences Jena, Germany placed his deliberations on the topic The Digital Turn: On the Quest for Holistic Approaches

Prof. Dr. Hacène Fouchal from Université de Reims Champagne-Ardenne, France placed his deliberations on the topic Challenges of Intelligent Vehicles,

Prof. Dr. Ulrike Lechner from Bundeswehr University Munich, Germany delivered the talk on the topic IT-Security in Critical Infrastructures: Experiences, Results and Research Directions,

In fact, the 15th editionof ICDCIT received a total of 115 papers. 66% of papers were from India spread across 21 states. The share of International contribution was 34% from 9 countries. These papers were reviewed by an International Program Committee.

Further, 52 papers were reviewed and finally 32 papers were accepted (18 as full papers i.e. 16% & 14 as short papers i.e. 13%). Out of total submission, 80% were in the core area of Distributed Computing, Security & Networks while 20% were in emerging areas like Machine Learning, Internet of Things & Digital Currency. From the 32 selected papers 5 papers are from Germany, China, Austria & USA.

The different Satellite Events of ICDCIT-2019 were Invited Talks, ICDCIT Main Conference Paper Presentation, 9th Student Research Symposium, 9th Industry Symposium and 8th Project Innovation Contest.

9th Industry Symposium :

Prof. Dr. Santosh Kumar Pani, the 9th Industry Symposium Chair has presented a report during Inaugural Ceremony.Internet of Things- enabling technologies, security and social implications was identified as the theme of symposium. Dr. Tapan K. Gandhi and Mr. Sharan Kantikar  delivered talks on selected theme. In all, 12 chapter proposals were received from practitioners, technology developers as well as researchers for bringing out a book on the theme of the symposium. For the previous edition of Industry Symposium, a book was released on Web Services published by Springer.

8th Project Innovation Contest :

Prof. Dr. Siddharth Swarup Rautaray, the 8th Project Innovation Contest Chair has briefed a report on the contest during Inaugural Ceremony. In all, 125 projects were received from 16 states (New Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Maharashtra, Punjab, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Haryana, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Odisha, Telangana, Rajasthan) and 3 countries (India, Nepal, and Italy) out of the received projects 48 projects have been selectedafter double blind review process to be included in the proceedings. For the first time the proceedings of the contest was published as a proceeding with the ISBN number.

 9th Student Research Symposium :

Prof. (Dr.) Arup Abhinna Acharya, the 9th Student Research Symposium Chair has given the summary on the symposium during inaugural ceremony. 10 number of student research papers were selected for oral presentation out of them have been selected for oral presentation and are accepted in the International Journal of Information Technology and will bePublished by Springer and enlisted in the approved list of UGC.
