Interactive Session on “Scope of Industrial Oriented Research” at KIIT

KIIT Deemed to be University organized an online Interactive Session on the topic “Scope of Industrial Oriented Research” on 14th January 2022. Dr. Krishna D. Kumar, Professor of Aerospace Engineering in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at Ryerson University, Canada and Founder-cum-President, iSAC Systems Inc., Toronto interacted with the GATE Aspirants of KIIT-DU. 

Dr. Kumar’s focus areas are Artificial Intelligence-based Predictive Analytics, Big Data and Internet-of-Things (IoT) to diverse sectors like Transportation, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Finance, Environmental and Waste Management. He highlighted the importance of research and identifying various research problems and elaborated on the characteristics of outstanding research and researcher’s required skills and habits. Taking a case study, he explained the different components of the research and the methodologies to reach the goal. He also discussed the importance of GATE and strategy to achieve good scores in different competitive exams (GATE, GRE, TOEFL).

Prof. Samaresh Mishra, Director, Students Affairs, KIIT-DU; and Prof. B.G. Mohapatra, Director, Consultancy discussed with the expert regarding scope of collaboration with Ryerson University, Canada and KIIT-DU in terms of research projects. They also motivated the aspirants to do hard work for achieving good scores in GATE 2022. 

Prof. Dr. Rana Chattaraj (GATE Coordinator, Civil Engineering); Prof. Ankit Soni (GATE Coordinator, Electrical Engineering); Prof. Amlan Datta (GATE Coordinator, Electronics Engineering); Prof. Santosh Kumar Hotta (GATE Coordinator, Mechanical Engineering); Prof. Amar Kumar Mohanty, (GATE Coordinator, General Aptitude); and Prof Suvasis Nayak (GATE Coordinator, Mathematics) were present and made participatory discussion with the students.

Earlier, Prof Chinmoy Kumar Panigrahi, Director, Quality Assurance, KIIT-DU extended a warm welcome to Dr. Krishna Deb Kumar and all the student participants. A word of thanks was given by Prof Amar Kumar Mohanty from School of Law, KIIT-DU. All GATE aspirants and interested B.Tech. students attended and interacted with Dr. Kumar on different queries regarding the scope of industrial research in Indian as well foreign universities.
