Interactive Session “Meet The Film Maker”

KIIT School of Film & Media Sciences is organizing a series of interactive sessions with eminent film makers under the theme of “Meet the Film Maker”.

Today,  Mr. Ghanashyam Mohapatra, a veteran  Film Maker was invited for the session. Mr. Mohapatra after doing Cinema Studies from S. J. Polytechnic, Bangalore, the oldest Institute in India teaching Cinema, did a brief stint in Mumbai and then set foot in Odisha producing and directing many award winning documentaries and feature films.

Features films like  “Kanakalata”,   documentaries like  “The Odissi Dance”: the first documentary on Odissi Dance form, “For a better living”: on agricultural implement,  a Biopic on Dr. Radhanath Rath: Founder of The Samaj and many more adds to his filmo-graphy.

Today the feature film “Kanakalata”, which has been highly appreciated in letter and spirit by esteemed Directors like Mr. Satyajit Ray, Mr. Shyam Benegal, Mr. Mrinal Sen  amongst many  others, was screened and vividly discussed with the film makers in the Auditorium of School of Film & Media Sciences, KIIT Deemed to be University.
