Industry Focused Technology Webinar on ‘Responding to Succeed in the VUCA World’ at KIIT-DU

A Webinar on ‘Responding to Succeed in the VUCA World’ was organized by Career Advisory & Augmentation School & Industry Engagement Cell, KIIT-DU in coordination with Corporate Relations Team. It was addressed by Mr. Ananth Vaidyanathan, COO, MU-Sigma Inc., a senior business executive with close to three decades of experience in the industry. He earlier held leadership roles at PCCW Solutions, Accenture, HCL and Infosys Technologies, etc.

Prof. Saranjit Singh, Director-Industry Engagements, KIIT-DU delivered the inaugural address, while Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar welcomed the esteemed guests and highlighted the glorious distinctions achieved by the young university. Prof. Suman Bhattacharya, Director CAAS, explained the concept of Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity and Ambiguity (VUCA) to the students.

Speaking at the meet, Mr. Ananthsaid thatthe shockevents like the 2011 financial crisis or the recent COVID-19 pandemic heralds a new normal in the business environment. He explained the difference between Responsive Organizations and Reactive Organizations, narrating how an organization should accept the shock situation, tackle it in a very responsive manner to come up with a productive solution to overcome the situation. He also mentioned with examples that responsive organizations have a higher chance to transform in the post crisis period. He also answered the students’ queries.

Mr. Ananth congratulated Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS on his consistent support and encouragement for the growth of quality technical education across the nation and commended the students’ community for adopting new technologies and learning for a better tomorrow.

Prof. Priyadarshi Biswal, Dean, CAASconvened the meeting where asProf. Abhishek Ray, Dean IE coordinated the Q&A session. The program ended with the vote of thanks offered by Prof. Prachet Bhuyan, Dean T&P.
