Induction Program for Newly Recruited YRC KIIT Volunteers

The KIIT Unit of Youth Red Cross (YRC) organized the first offline induction program for its newly-recruited volunteers on the theme “Sensitizing the youth on road safety matters”.

Addressing the youth, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Biswal, Jt. Commissioner Transport (Road Safety) gave statistical information and stated the consequences of not following safety gear on the roads. Mr. Sanat Kumar Jena, RTO, Bhubaneswar II iterated the penal provisions for violating the rules while driving any vehicle, intending to make the youth aware completely.

Prof. (Dr.) J. R. Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT-DU, in his welcome address, praised the efforts of the Youth Red Cross Unit. Mr. Suresh Mohanty, Counsellor, Chandaka Junior College imparted training to the volunteers with the clapping technique of YRC. As a part of the Constitution Day observance, the YRC volunteers read the Preamble to the Constitution of India before starting the induction program.

Dr. Chitralekha Jena, Counsellor, YRC KIIT and the student volunteers coordinated the program. The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Tanmoy Roy Choudhury, Counsellor, YRC KIIT. More than 100 volunteers attended the event.
