Inaugural Ceremony of ‘Summer Training Program-2021’ at KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering

The inaugural ceremony of online ‘Summer Training Program-2021’ of the KIIT School of Mechanical Engineering was held on 5th June 2021. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. J. R. Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT Deemed to be University, highlighted the culture of the University in implementing various innovations in the teaching-learning process and congratulated the School for conducting this kind of summer training program. Prof. Saranjit Singh, Director, IEC elaborated the relevance of the topics of the training program in the present industrial developments. He proposed some suggestions in the program and encouraged students to extract as much as possible from it.

Summer Training Program-2021 Mechanical KIIT

Earlier, the event commenced with the welcome address by Dr. B. C. Routara, Dean, School of Mechanical Engineering. He described the achievements of KIIT and Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) and the tremendous effort by Founder Prof. Achyuta Samanta. He also briefed about the achievements and developments happening in the School of Mechanical Engineering and emphasized the significance of the summer training program for the students.

Dr. Abhilas Swain, Assistant Professor, School of Mechanical Engineering presented an overview of the Summer Training Program. Five courses such as Computational Fluid Dynamics (Coordinator: Dr. Prakash Ghosh); Simulations in Machine Design and Robotics (Coordinator: Dr. Ambesh Kumar); Additive Manufacturing: Smart manufacturing Systems (Coordinator: Dr. Swayam Bikash Mishra); Electric Vehicles (Coordinator: Dr. I. Panigrahi); and Supply Chain Management (Coordinator: Prof. Sushant Tripathy) are offered in the program. The course coordinators also briefed about the importance and features of the training program.

Dr. P. Chandrasekhar, Associate Dean, T&P proposed the vote of thanks. The event was attended by 150 participants.
