A 31-member delegation from Bhutan, comprising 30 Buddhist monk teachers from diverse schools and one coordinator from the Ministry of Education & Skills Development, began a 7-day Immersion Programme at KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar, on 18th August, 2025.

The initiative, hosted by KIIT, offers participants the opportunity to learn and share perspectives on spiritualism, the Art of Giving, compassion, and value-based education. Sessions also cover themes such as mindfulness in education, adolescent emotional and social development, and holistic approaches to well-being.

Welcoming the delegates, KIIT and KISS Founder, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, spoke on “Education and Sanskar, Karma and Prarabdha, and the Art of Giving”. He underlined the importance of value-based education, stating, “Education and Sanskar are two sides of the same coin. In today’s society, one cannot be successful with only higher education. True success comes when knowledge is coupled with values.”

Citing examples from the Gita, Ramayana, and Mahabharata, Dr. Samanta stressed that happiness gained by hurting others is short-lived, while the consequences of one’s actions inevitably follow. He described the Art of Giving as a philosophy of life: “There is joy in giving. Life becomes meaningful and happy when we can help others.”

The delegation expressed appreciation for the KIIT and KISS model of blending modern academics with spiritual and cultural wisdom. They noted that the programme would help integrate traditional knowledge with contemporary pedagogy in Bhutan, strengthening compassionate, value-based learning for future generations.

The Royal Government of Bhutan’s decision to partner with KIIT and KISS for this programme reflects the institutions’ global reputation in education, humanitarian service, and inclusive learning. Over the next six months, KIIT will host more than 200 Bhutanese delegates, further strengthening the educational and cultural ties between the two nations.

Expressing his gratitude, Dr. Samanta said, “The trust of the Royal Government of Bhutan in KIIT and KISS inspires us to continue serving humanity through education rooted in compassion, equity, and human dignity.”
