Conference on International Exchange between KIIT-DU and Tottori Prefectural Government, Japan Strengthens Prospects for Academic and Industrial Collaboration

A high-level delegation from the Tottori Prefectural Government, Japan, led by Mr. Toshiki ENDO, Chief Secretary, visited KIIT Deemed to be University on 30 July 2026 to participate in a Conference on International Exchange with the University’s leadership.

The discussions focused on a wide range of collaborative initiatives, including academic and research partnerships, faculty and student exchange programmes, language and workforce training, start-up and innovation collaboration, industrial engagement, and internship and employment opportunities across various disciplines, particularly Engineering and Technology. The deliberations also laid the foundation for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between KIIT Deemed to be University and Tottori University during the proposed visit of the Governor of Tottori to Odisha in November this year.

The conference commenced with welcome remarks by Prof. (Dr.) Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT DU. He highlighted the many areas of common interest shared by Odisha and Tottori Prefecture, as well as the complementary strengths of KIIT and Tottori University, which offer immense potential for long-term collaboration across multiple academic and professional domains.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Toshiki ENDO, Chief Secretary, Tottori Prefectural Government, expressed his optimism about expanding cooperation between the two institutions and emphasised the importance of fostering deeper educational, cultural, and industrial ties. This was followed by an interactive exchange of ideas between senior representatives from both sides on future collaborative initiatives.

The Tottori delegation included Ms. Harue MIYATA, Director, Employment Support Services; Mr. Kunihiko TAGUCHI, Director-General, Tourism & Exchange Bureau; and Mr. Akifumi SHIMIZU, Director, Trade & Logistics Division; and Mr. Hiroshi AKIMOTO, Director, Welfare Division. They shared valuable insights on employment opportunities, tourism and cultural exchange, trade, logistics, and industry–academia collaboration in Tottori Prefecture.

Representing KIIT-DU, Prof. (Dr.) Kumar Mohanty, Director, School of Management; Prof. (Dr.) Gopal C. Kundu, Director, Research & Development; Prof. (Dr.) Srinivas Patnaik, Dean, School of Biotechnology; and Prof. (Dr.) Arun Kumar Ray, Director, Academics, presented the University’s academic strengths, research capabilities, and collaborative vision. Prof. Ray also delivered the concluding remarks and proposed the vote of thanks.
