CME ‘COVISTETRICS’ Organized by Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, KIMS
The Covid-19 pandemic has accelerated digitalization in Medical Education. Physical CME as a substantial component was affected, thus hybrid mode of conducting CME has taken a leap all over the world. ‘COVISTETRICS’ is one such CME organized by the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, KIMS under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Rath with an attempt at a concise discussion on topics reflecting on the adaptations in obstetric care that have now become a challenge for obstetricians.
In providing obstetrics care in Covid time, KIMS has been in the forefront, right from the first wave. To share our experience and knowledge a CME ‘COVISTETRICS’ was conducted in a hybrid mode on 22th January 2022 at KIMS. It was inaugurated by Prof Dr. P. K. Pattnaik, Prof. Dr. Ambika Mohanty, and Prof. Dr. R. C. Das. It covered some important topics like mental health of pregnant women in COVID era, antenatal care in COVID times, and critical care management in Covid positive mothers and Covid vaccination in pregnancy. It had some very eminent speakers from all over India like Prof. Gangadhar Sahu, Dean, IMS); Prof. Amitav Banerjee, Head Community Medicine, DYPMC; and Prof. Purna Chandra Mohapatra, past president of FOGSI. Dr. Manasi Patnaik, Dr. Pramila Jena, Dr. Mohini and others contributed profoundly. It was a successful event with more than 150 participants from all over the country.
