Cloth Distribution in Sikharchandi Slum by NSS Bureau of SCE, KIIT DU

NSS Bureau of School of Computer Engineering under KIIT Deemed to be University conducted a Cloth Distribution drive as a part of the Diwali Celebration on 27th of October, 2019 in Sikharchandi Slum near SICC.

Diwali isn’t just the festival of lights but is a celebration of joy. The warmth of the festival is such that it permeates through everyone. Indeed a beautiful festival of gifts and sweets, everyone enjoying a royal feast, through love and affection do all hearts beat.


Rendering this affection towards people deprived of many amenities, the enthusiastic volunteers decided to collect old clothes from hostels as well as their homes to reach a target sufficient enough to spread smiles and garner cheer among all the residents of the slum.

Celebrating Diwali in full swing, the volunteers distributed old clothes to all the residents of Sikharchandi slum and made sure that each and every lamp of soul shines with the oil of purity. And they too feel the happiness they deserve through this noble initiative.

The volunteers were received with great enthusiasm from all the residents of the slum and the pleasure was evident on their faces until the event concluded, all in all making a successful Diwali celebration for the volunteers as well as the residents of the slum.

The NSS SCE KIIT  team thank our beloved Founder, Dr. Achutya Samanta for his contribution in inculcating a sense of giving among the volunteers and hail his efforts in spreading happiness and joy through giving to people in need.
