Celebration of World Environment Day One Day Workshop on “Compliances of Environmental and Pollution Control Regulations as well as Sustainable Development Practices”
On 5th June 2023, KIIT Deemed to be University in association with Wetland International South Asia and Perfact Group, New Delhi organized a one-day workshop on “World Environment Day”. The workshop focused on the theme of “Compliance with Environmental and Pollution Control Regulations as well as Sustainable Development Practices.”
The workshop was inaugurated by Prof. J. R. Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT-DU, while Dr. B. C. Sabat, Add. Director (R&D), KIIT welcomed the guests. Dr. Manoranjan Hota, Former Advisor, MOEF & CC, GoI shared his insights on the significance of “World Environment Day”. Dr. Ram Bhooj, Former Advisor, UNESCO provided an overview of the UN perspective on environment and sustainability. Dr. A. K. Suar, Ex-Chief Engineer, Odisha Pollution Control Board spoke about the role of regulatory bodies in controlling the environmental pollution and their implementation methodology.
Dr. Anil Kumar, Advisor Perfact Group, Delhi delved into the challenges of implementing and monitoring environmental compliance. Mr. Nipun Bhargava and Mr. Harendra Singh from Perfact Group presented technical details on environmental surveillance and compliance from an industry perspective. Finally, Dr. Suraj Tripathy, Associate Dean of the School of Chemical Technology at KIIT-DU, delivered the vote of thanks. The workshop was attended by faculty members, research scholars, students, and industry personnel from various organizations, fostering insightful discussions on different aspects of sustainable practices.
