Celebration of 150th Birthday of Mahatma Gandhi Students of KiiT International School conduct a one-day awareness drive on Plastic Waste Management
Inspired by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Damodar Modi’s promise to pay the greatest tribute to the Father of The Nation on his 150th birth anniversary in 2019 by making India clean with the Swacch Bharat campaign, the students of KiiT International School, Bhubaneswar conducted a one-day awareness drive on 1st October, 2019 on Plastic Waste Management as key theme. The aim of the drive was to create awareness about air, water and land pollution and its devastating consequences on all life forms on earth.
The campaign included write-ups, charts and poems written and showcased by the students. The response was overwhelming. Students aimed to create a better understanding of the importance of cleanliness and consequences of indiscriminate single use plastic materials. They solemnly promised to follow simple rules of holistic sustainable living and also spread the message Swachhata Hi Seva in their homes and amongst friends as they took an oath for the same.
