Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course for HCP by KIMS Doctor at Newtown, Kolkata
The goal is to achieve the survival and neurological intact outcome of the patient on the verge of cardiac arrest.
Basic Life Support, or BLS, generally refers to the type of care that first-responders, healthcare providers and public safety professionals provide to anyone who is experiencing cardiac arrest, respiratory distress or an obstructed airway. It requires knowledge and skills in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), using automated external defibrillators (AED) and relieving airway obstructions in patients of every age.
Associate Professor Dr. Nirmal Kumar Mohakud, National Trainer, IAP ALS/BLS courses,from KIMS was invited to provide the training at Bhagirathi Neotia Women and Child Care Hospital, Newtown, Kolkata.
In all, as many as 32 participants mostly practicing Paediatricians, MOs and Nurses working on critical units from all over West Bengal were provided the training. It is a very recognized course accepted all over the world.
It was organized by IAP ALS/BLS group, East Zone and NKAPWest Bengal with Course Coordinator Dr. Soumik Ghose and Course Director Dr. Shrabanee Chakroborty of Kolkata.
