‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav’ – The Countdown to India’s 75th Year of Independence

The Government has decided to celebrate the ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ Nationwide from March 12 to commemorate 75 years of Indian Independence.

The Mega Celebrations to commemorate the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence have begun on 12th March 2021. In this context, NSS Wings of KIIT School of Management (KSOM) and KIIT School of Civil Engineering conducted a Webinar and Essay Writing Competition respectively to know the youth’s perspective on India’s Freedom Struggle. 

Speaking at the webinar, Sri Rajnikant, Advocate Patna High Court and alumni of BHU spoke about the struggle of our National Heroes. He started his talk by a song “Ham lai hai tufan se kisti nikal ke es desh ko rakhana mere bacho sambhal ke”.  He hailed Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KIIT & KISS as the freedom fighter of the present time. When one & all in the society are struggling for themselves, in contrast, Dr. Samanta is struggling for the entire society. Dr. Suranjana J. Hazarika also addressed the youth regarding India’s freedom struggle. Earlier, The Programme Coordinator of KIIT NSS Bureau and Dy. Director Community Engagement Cell, Dr. Kajal Parashar welcomed the guests and thanked the NSS Unit of School of Management for organizing the event.

KIIT School of Civil Engineering launched the celebrations by organizing an Online Essay Writing Competition on “Celebration of 75th Year of India’s Independence (Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav)”. Great efforts were put in by the volunteers of NSS BUILDERS to make the competition remarkable. They shared their essays and were appreciated for their efforts and creativity. It served as a great opportunity for the volunteers to showcase their talent and literary capabilities. All the volunteers paid their tributes to the Freedom Fighters for their sacrifices.

The NSS volunteers of KIIT extended their thankfulness to Dr. Achyuta Samanta; Prof. Hrushikesha Mohanty, Vice Chancellor; Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Pro Vice Chancellor; and Prof. Kajal Parashar, Programme Coordinator, KIIT NSS Bureau for their constant support and guidance.
