Awareness Camp on ‘AtmaNirbhar Bharat Rojagar Yojana’ at KIIT

The Employees Provident Fund Organization, Regional Office, Bhubaneswar organized AtmaNirbhar Bharat Rojgar Yojana (ABRY) Awareness Camp at the premises of KIIT Deemed to be University on 19th January 2021.

It was graced by Shri Sudeepta Ghosh, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner; Shri S.K. Rath, Assistant Commissioner; Shri Chittaranjan Swain, Enforcement Officer; Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Pro-VC, KIIT Deemed to be University; Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar; and  Shri Sibananda Mishra, Director-HR.

Addressing the participants, Shri Sudeepta Ghosh hailed ABRY as a very wise scheme initiated by the Govt. of India. EPF is reaching the last employee and its impact has been quite incredible, he stated. He advised the employees not to withdraw advances without any substantial reason and urged them to take full advantage of the ABRY Scheme leading to its successful implementation.

Shri S.K. Rath profusely lauded KIIT Group of Institution for its role in the war against the Covid-19 pandemic. He requested the service providers and vendors to take advantage of ABRY Scheme. Mentioning the Talisman Concept followed by Gandhiji, he said, “We should often keep it in our minds. Such a highly acclaimed scheme has reached the downtrodden people struggling for survival at the lowest rung of the social order”, he added.

In her address, Prof. Sasmita Samanta said, “To be self reliant, we should always emphasize on how to build up the processes to earn money and how to leverage to do that. Money is representation of values and creating value matters the most as it is crucial in building up one’s social standing and dignity”.

Covid 19 pandemic has motivated each one of us and culminated hope to be self reliant, she said. “The Govt of India has taken a lot of initiatives for the benefits of employees and therefore we here at KIIT are trying our best to explore ways for the comprehensive betterment of our employees and stakeholders”, Prof. Sasmita Samanta stated. She asserted that whatever decision the Government takes for the greater interest of the employees, KIIT will be at the forefront to enact it.

Earlier, welcoming the dignitaries and introducing the guests to the audience, Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty said, KIIT is integrating professional education with social concern. As far as ABRY is concerned, it is like a dream come true. It has created a new ray of hope. Placing detailed statistics of the employees getting benefits from EPF and its enactment in KIIT, he said, the awareness programme will benefit staff and other stakeholders of KIIT immensely.

Towards the end of the programme, Shri SK Rath took questions from the participants. Shri Sibananda Mishra proposed the vote of thanks.
