ATAL FDP 2021 on ‘Outcome Based Education and Digital Pedagogy’

Faculty Development Programme on ‘Outcome Based Education and Digital Pedagogy’ focusing on ‘Outcome based education, Accreditation requirements and its compliance using digital pedagogy in professional courses’ sponsored by AICTE Training and Learning (ATAL) Academy, Govt. of India, is being organized from 26th June to 30th June 2021.

The Faculty Development Program (FDP) is designed to acquaint faculty members involved in professional education with the framework of outcome based education, accreditation requirements, methodology to design courses and curriculum accordingly and deliver them through digital platforms. Hands-on training on using G Suite, Moodle, Excel VBA resources and statistical inference will be done for implementing digital pedagogy, tracking student performance and determining outcome attainments. Sessions will also be conducted on spiritual intelligence and stress management using ancient Indian knowledge which is expected to be helpful in difficult times.

There will be a total of 14 sessions to be delivered by eminent speakers across 5 days through the online platform zoom and is attended by 200 faculty members of AICTE approved institutions from across the country.

Placing the welcome address, Prof Sasmita Samanta, Professor of Commerce & Management and Pro Vice Chancellor, KIIT DU as well as the Coordinator of this ATAL FDP, underscored the ‘Outcome Based Education & Digital Pedagogy’. She made an exhaustive elaboration on accreditation requirements and its compliance using digital pedagogy in professional courses. Her in-depth analysis on how convincingly Digital Pedagogy has a far-reaching impact in enlightening the students by & large. She also remarked Digital Pedagogy has been substantiated as the only and most viable alternative of class room education in such a difficult time.

Gracing the occasion, Prof. Bhimaraya Metri, Director, IIM-Nagpur spoke on the theme of the FDP. His insightful talk enlightened the participants thoroughly. In face of the fierce competitiveness globally, the Education ought to be outcome based for the greater interest of the students. He also argued in favour of Digital Pedagogy as the best medium of imparting education beyond the horizon.

Prof. Damodar Suar, Chairman, Social Science Research put his address on Digital Pedagogy and its role in the post COVID world. He remarked that Digital Pedagogy has fetched us out of box outcomes during such terrible Covid pandemic. He hoped that Digital Pedagogy will also be playing a significant role in the days to come.

Lastly extending the Word of Thanks, Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty, Registrar, KIIT Deemed to be University remarked that Digital Pedagogy has gradually become an indispensable part of our Education System. In future, Digital Mode will be remaining as relevant as at present in imparting education even if normalcy restores, added the Registrar.
