5th KIIT National Mock Trial Competition 2019
The 5th KIIT National Mock Trial Competition 2019, was inaugurated on 5th April, 2019 in KIIT Law School premises. Prof. S.K. Nanda, Principal, M.S. Law College, Cuttack, inaugurated the programme in the presence of Prof. N.K. Chakraborty, Director, KIIT Law School; Prof. P.C. Mishra, Dean, KIIT Law School; Prof. P.K. Sarkar, Professor, KIIT Law School and Dr. Paromita Chhatoraj, Associate Dean (Academics) & the Convener of the programme.
In his inaugural address, while welcoming all the participants, Prof. Chakraborty impressed upon the importance of Mock Trial in the present field of legal education. Prof. Mishra, stressed upon the relevance of Mock Trial along with Moot Court, which is an imperative of continuing legal education of the future legal experts. Prof. Sarkar explained about the nuances of Mock Trial and skill development of law students in order to become a successful lawyer in future.
Prof. Nanda, Guest of Honour, elaborated the concept of mock trial citing examples with regard to the importance of the same in legal profession. He congratulated KIIT Law School for successfully conducting this National Level Mock Trial Competition, which is of very recent origin. He also congratulated all the participants, representing 26 Colleges and Universities from across the country and encouraged them to develop their skill of advocacy which will go a long way in shaping their career in future.
Dr. Paromita Chattoraj, conveyed a hearty Vote of Thanks to the dignitaries, organizing committee members and above all the participants, wishing them success in the competition.
