41st Sub Junior National Volleyball(Boys & Girls) Championship 2019
The 41st Sub Junior National Volleyball (Boys & Girls) Championship is organized by Odisha Volleyball Association in association with KIIT-Deemed to be University & KISS under the aegis of Volleyball Federation of India (VFI) at Volleyball Stadium, KIIT University from 23rd to 28th February 2019.
The event has been inaugurated on 23rd February (today) at KIIT Auditorium by the Chief Guest, Shri. Vishal Ku Dev, Commissioner cum Secretary, Sports & Youth Services Department, Govt. of Odisha, in presence of Prof. Achyuta Samanta, Founder of KIIT & KISS and Hon’ble MP,(Rajyasabha); Shri. Anand Rajhans, Hony. Vice President, Volleyball Federation of India(VFI); Shri. Shekhar Bose, Hony. Treasurer, VFI and Chairman of Control Committee; Shri. Sanjay Ku Das, Working President of OVA and Dr. Gaganendu Dash, Hony. Secretary, Odisha Volleyball Association.
The title sponsor of this mega national event are Odisha Mining Corporation (OMC) and Department of Sports & Youth Services, Govt. of Odisha and supported by NALCO, Paradip Port, Paradip Phosphates Ltd, MGM Group, Odisha as Co-Sponsor of the event. The International Volleyball Players, VFI Officials and National Volleyball players above 50 years were felicitated during the Inaugural Ceremony by the Founder of KIIT & KISS.
In all, 25 boys & 22 Girls Volleyball Teams with 700 players across the country have participated in this mega national event. The participating states in this event are : West Bengal, Rajasthan, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Assam, Gujarat, Manipur, Delhi, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Telengana, TamilNadu, Jammu & Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chandigarh, Pondicherry and Uttarakhand.
The matches will be played in League cum knock-out basis. The knock-out system will be played from quarter final onwards. The Semi-final match will be played on 27th February and Final Match on 28th February, 2019.
In his speech, the Chief Guest Shri.Vishal Dev conveyed good wishes to Odisha Volleyball Association and KIIT Deemed to be University for hosting such a mega National Event in state capital for the promotion of Volleyball in the state.
Prof. Samanta, Founder of KIIT & KISS welcomed all the participants to KIIT Campus and wished good luck to all the participants of this national event.
