3rd Foundation Day of KSCE Dignitaries Foresee School’s Bright Future, Unveil Its Annual Magazine

KIIT School of Commerce & Economics (KSCE) celebrated its 3rd Foundation Day through a virtual program on 17th July 2021. Founded by the visionary educationist and philanthropist Prof. Achyuta Samanta on 17th July 2019, KSCE has successfully completed its 2nd year. Under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Sasmita Samanta, Pro Vice Chancellor, KIIT-DU and Prof. (Dr.) Jayanta Kumar Parida, Director, KSCE, the School has been able to establish itself as one of the most preferred destinations for students within a short span of time.

In his opening remarks, Prof. Jayanta Kumar Parida described the exceptional journey of the School in the last two years. He appreciated the efforts of the faculty members and staff for working tirelessly in making the teaching-learning process engaging and interesting, especially during the pandemic when online classes are the norm. Prof. Parida expressed his heartfelt thanks to Prof. Achyuta Samanta for his constant support. He also thanked Prof. Sasmita Samanta for her active participation in making the School a centre of excellence.

Prof. K. K. Basa, Vice Chancellor, Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University, Baripada graced the program as the Chief Guest and delivered the Foundation Day Lecture. In his speech, Prof. Basa urged the young population of the nation, through the students of KSCE, to try to find out opportunities from this difficult time. Substantiating his arguments with the examples from World Wars, he encouraged the students of Commerce & Economics to make the best out of the situation.

Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Sasmita Samanta, under whose leadership KSCE was established in the year 2019, commended the achievements of the School during the period. Being a Professor of Commerce & Management, she expressed that the School has a special place in her heart. Prof. Samanta hoped that in the next few years, KSCE would be standing out in the field of Commerce education, competing with the top institutions of the nation.

On this occasion, the annual report of the School was presented, highlighting the achievements of the School in the last year. The report described, even as the other educational institutions struggled to conduct a general teaching-learning process during the pandemic, KSCE evolved through the situation through innovative methods to cope-up with the new normal. It not only conducted classes through online mode, but also conducted almost all the students’ activities, which would have been held otherwise. To note some, the School has successfully conducted regular weekly seminars, seminars by experts from outside on recent topics of importance, fortnight business quizzes, elocution contests, painting competitions, national webinars, etc.

The Annual magazine of the School, ‘Koup D’Oeil 2021’, was inaugurated by the guests. It highlights all achievements and accolades of the school, its faculty members and students as well as activities taken up by the School in the previous year.

The program was followed by cultural events by students in online mode. Students performed various classical and modern dances, played instruments, songs, stand-up comedy, poetry, etc. to commemorate the event. A short video on the outstanding journey of the school in the last two years was also released.
