1338 KISS Students to Appear +2 Exam Girls make up 60% of the students

This year as many as 1338 students from Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) will be appearing the Higher Secondary (+2) Exam to be conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha. Among them, 60% are girl students. Also, 60% of the students appearing this exam are from primitive tribes, over two third of them belonging to Saura community.

KISS has been always laying importance on girls’ education. It has conducted many awareness programmes like ‘Education for All’, ‘Kanya Kiran’ and Art of Giving in different districts of Odisha to create awareness on girls’ education. As a result, an increasing number of tribal girls from different tribal dominated districts are showing interest in education. Like every year, Dr. Achyuta Samanta, Founder, KISS & KIIT distributed pens among KISS students and wished them all the best. “I am very much hopeful and confident that, this year also the students will retain the rhythm of cent percent success like previous years,” he said.
