KIIT School of Public Health Organizes Alumni Talk
KIIT School of Public Health (KSPH), KIIT-DU organized the 3rd Alumni Talk on 22nd January 2022 on virtual platform. The speakers of the talk were: Ms. Manisha Samanta, an alumna from Master of Public Health (MPH) programme of 2018-20 batch who is presently working as a Block Manager in CARE India, Bhagalpur, Bihar, and Ms. Somasubhra Adak, an alumna from Master of Hospital Administration (MHA) of 2018-20 batch who is currently working as a Manager, Biomedical Engineering in Alamelu Charitable Foundation (ACF) supported by Tata Trusts at Ranchi.
In her talk, Ms. Manisha Samanta shared her experiences in her present job. She highlighted her responsibilities and accountability for outreach activities in Care India. She also suggested to students the importance of building a strong foundation in public health. She explained how the knowledge and skills she gained during her study period at KSPH came handy in planning and managing the outreach activities. She further emphasized the importance of knowing and understanding the local dialect wherever one works. She expressed her gratitude to the Director and other faculty members of KSPH for their guidance in her professional career development.
Ms. Somasubhra Adak elaborated her working experiences as Biomedical Engineer in layout, planning and designing of different functional units of the hospitals. She advised the students to gain the appropriate knowledge and skills in hospital management irrespective of their previous educational background and feel as an essential part of the health care sector. She also expressed her special thanks to the Director, faculty and staff members of KSPH.
Associate Prof. Himanshu Sekhar Pradhan gave a short introduction about the objective of the alumni talk series and its importance in establishing bonds between alumni with existing students. Prof. (Dr.) S. K. Satpathy, Director, KSPH, KIIT-DU gave an introductory remark of the alumni series and greeted speakers. Both alumnae speakers answered queries of the students.
