KSOFT Organizes National Conference on “Sustainable Clothing and Textile Recycling”

KIIT School of Fashion Technology (KSOFT) organized the 3rd National Conference on “Sustainable Clothing and Textile Recycling” on the 15th and 16th March 2024. The conference was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor, KIIT-DU, Prof. Saranjit Singh; Registrar, Prof. Jnyana Ranjan Mohanty; Deputy Director, KSOFT, Ms. Gipsita Nayak; Dean, Prof. Bauri Raula; and Assistant Professor & Convenor, Ms. Biswaranjita Mahapatra. It witnessed Paper Presentations and Panel Discussions by eminent personalities from academia and industry, making it a grand success.

Keynote speakers at the conference included Prof. A.K. Samanta (Retired Professor & former HOD, IJT, University of Kolkata); Prof. Binay Bhusan Jena (Professor and Chairperson, NIFT Bhubaneswar); and Ms. Jaya Kanwar (Founder, Anhad and Design Head at Accenture).  Their insightful presentations shed light on various aspects of sustainable clothing and textile recycling, inspiring the audience with innovative ideas and solutions.

The panel discussion, moderated by Prof. Binay Bhusan Jena featured esteemed panelists such as Prof. Biswajit Dash (Professor, KIIT School of Management); Ms. Lipsa Hembran (Textile and Fashion Designer, Entrepreneur, Design Mentor, Founder and Creative Head at Galang Gabaan); Prof. A.P. Dash (Independent Director, M/s Wild Lotus Fashions Private Limited ); and Prof. Bauri Raula. The panelists engaged in fruitful discussions on key challenges and opportunities in the field, providing valuable insights to the audience.
