Workshop on Psychoanalytic Hermeneutics at KIIT School of Languages
KIIT School of Languages (KSOL), KIIT Deemed to be University organized a two-day workshop on “Psychoanalytic Hermeneutics: Reading Literary and Cultural Texts” facilitated by Prof. (Dr.) Debashis Bandyopadhyay on 6th and 7th May 2022. Dr. Bandyopadhyay is a Professor in English, Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata and a former Fulbright (USA) and Charles Wallace (UK) Fellow.
The event was graced by Prof. Sasmita Samanta, Vice Chancellor, KIIT-DU; Prof. J. R. Mohanty, Registrar; Prof. (Dr.) Beerendra Pandey, Dean, KSOL; Dr. Sahel Md. Delabul Hossain, Academic Coordinator; and Mr. Sameer Das, Deputy Director.
The workshop, curated and coordinated by Prof. Debanjali Roy, Assistant Professor, KSOL, was the first such offline academic event organized by the School. The topic chosen for the workshop aimed to cater to students and scholars of undergraduate, postgraduate and research programmes in English literature and culture studies. Initiating students into theoretical perspectives of Freudian and Lacanian psychoanalysis, the workshop contributed to providing hands-on training of application of the theories in literary and cultural contexts.
Attended enthusiastically by students, faculty members and staff of KIIT School of Languages, the workshop upheld the vision of the School to provide best academic exposure to its students.
